Maple Apple Oatmeal

People usually eat their oatmeal with just water or milk. Let's face it, in this day and age, everything is just so fast paced and we don't have time to prepare for such a complicated recipe. But there are easy recipes that will add some twist to your favorite dish without the time concern.

Turn your ordinary oatmeal into a treat with this very quick and easy recipe!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups apple juice
  • 1 tbsp real maple syrup
  • 1/2 ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1-1/2 cups Quaker Quick Cooking Oats or Old Fashioned Oats, uncooked
  • 1 cup unpeeled apple or dried apple pieces, chopped
  • 5 walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)

Procedure

1 In a medium saucepan, bring juice, water, syrup, cinnamon, and salt to a boil.
2 Stir in oats and apple, and then reduce heat and cook on a simmering flame.
3 Cook for about 5 minutes until most of the liquid is absorbed and stir occasionally.
4 Stir in walnuts, if desired.
