Oat Crusted Pork Chops

Oats and pork chops— who woulda thought? You get that fried goodness while enjoying feeling good, welcome to the wonderful world of the health benefits of oatmeal!



  • 6 pork chops, fat trimmed (you can also trim off the bone)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg, beaten




    1 cup Quaker Rolled Oats, toasted and ground fine
    1 tsp paprika
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp onion powder
    1/4 tsp dried Italian seasoning (optional)
    1/8 tsp pepper
    Canola Oil to fry or grease pan


1 Preparation

Season pork chop with  ¼ tsp salt. Divide 1 cup of Quaker Rolled Oats in 2. Grind half of the oats using a blender, food processor, or a coffee grinder. Toast the other half as whole grain oats in a pan. Mix the oats altogether then combine oats 3/4 tsp crust ingredients in a bowl. Place the beaten egg in a different bowl. Dip the pork into the egg, crumb mixture, then let rest.

2 Frying

Pour ¼ cup oil and heat the frying pan over medium heat. Add the chops & fry 3-4 minutes on each side.

3 Baking

Preheat oven to 218.3ᵒC, heat baking dish (do not use glass) in the oven for 15 mins. Brush oil onto the dish & bake each side for 10 mins.
